Thanks for taking the time to visit this site, i take it that you are here because of the posters put up around Borden, so you know whats going on.

If you don't know, here's a brief summary; the school have decided that some typed of hair styles will be unacceptable, so if you have a hairstyle that THEY decide is unacceptable to THEM you are going to get in trouble for it.

OK? Now we have always had teachers moaning about pupils hair styles and now they are enforcing it as a proper rule. My question is, why? Do "unacceptable" hair styles affect the way we learn or how well we learn? Does it harm others? I believe, as i'm sure most of you do, that it's YOUR hair, do with it what you want (as long as you don't attach bazookas to it or soak it in nytro glycerol).

During Friday's assembly - when we were told about the rule coming into real action from Monday - the above questions came into my mind as they had so often done before. It's a stupid petty rule that gives us less freedom over ourselves. Think about it, if the school can start to control how our hair should look, what else will they get away with? This might seem stupid but it doesn't seem unlikely that eventually the world will turn into that of "1984" (good book, must read).

Then I wondered how many people would actually do anything about it, sure 1 or 2 people would still style their hair "inappropriately for school but it wouldn't make a difference. If we want to change this rule we need to come together as a group and put our points towards the headmaster, the governors and all the other school persons in power.

So that's why I, Freedom_Freak, have decided to try and get us people together and make our voices heard. The more people come together, the bigger impact we should make so spread the word. We need to make our voices heard!

The 1st thing you can do is tell people about this site and get as many people involved as possible. GO TO THE FORUM! When we feel we have a good amount of people we can start deciding on what we will do, write letters, petitions etc. All progress will be in the Forum, where all decisions and stuff will be discussed.
